This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by our, then, ten year-old son during a trip to Cambria, California. I was having a gallery show and we stayed at a beautiful lodge that had wonderful gardens. While exploring our son came upon a "bedroom" set in the middle of the forest. The landscaper had created a "flower bed" with a blanket of blossoms and flowers spilling out of the chest of drawers. Albert said, "Dad, this looks like one of your paintings...you have to paint this"! Well, I did and he is very proud to let everyone know that The Flower Bed was his idea...Judging from the response it was a very good idea indeed!
