Maybe it is my English/Irish roots that draw me to this stone cottage. As a child I loved to read Dickens and when I came across this English cottage, with the intricate stone work and thatched roof, I imagined the smell of wet moss and the warmth of a crackling fire. The couple that bought the original oil painting lives in Carmel, California. Known as "Carmel by the Sea", the fog rolls in from the cold Pacific Ocean and this quaint city feels like the Enlgish coast. So many people tlel me they would like to "escape" to one of my houses....I feel the same way!
